JEE Programming with RAD

     IBM Rational Application Developer (RAD) is the newest generation of Java application development environments built on the Eclipse open platform. It offers many features that the traditional IDEs do not provide, including the role-based development models and the plug-in based flexibility of developing and adding new functionality to the environment. This course teaches programmers how to write enterprise applications based on the Java Enterprise Edition (JEE) architecture. In addition to the core concepts of JEE, this course provides specific instruction on building JEE applications using Rational Application Developer (RAD), targeting deployment in WebSphere Application Server (WAS).

Prerequisites:

     Students should understand essential concepts of Object-Oriented Programming and be able to write simple Java programs with assistance. Experience developing distributed applications, such as COM or CORBA application is helpful but not necessary.
